26 Truckee is situated upon a wide mass of terminal & medial moraines laid down by the Tahoe & Donner glaciers. The buildings are set in gl [glacial] drift & a very fine & regular moraine stretches along back of the main street on the north [sketch: Donner gl; Truckee; Squaw; Tahoe or Truckee vall gl]

There is a wide open forested tract here, with the Washoe Mtns in the distance.
