12 The Fall of next (3d) Lit Yo [Little Yosemite] is more stashed in Descending a kind of natural stairway, the granite being stratified irregularly. The can [canyon] above this fall is exceedingly narrow, and has considerable descent therefore in flood seasons the force of the stream brings down large quantities of boulders, manufactured [wi/vls] its many basins & potholes. This Lit Yo about a mile long is therefore filled with boulders while the one immediately below it has scarcely any. The channel between these is blocked by [numerous] earthquake boulders. The ground of the lower is green with
13 15ft=per 100, within 3/2, [mile/wide] grade of Coulterville road
mosses [ ] the walls of [loft] an of [ ] are striped with waterfalls in spring, only oozing silent ribbons in summer
The upper is a garden of azalea in middle & [ ] & [ ] on the [edges] all surrounded with waves of granite. The lower is a [ ] [ ]
