Lake Val [valley] & [Tahoe] the main portion of Lake Val [Valley] gl [glacier] came from farther N. [north], Lake Val [Valley] is long & v [very] straight wide at mouth & marshy
Only large meads [meadows] of Lake Shore here,
Lake val [valley] has many terminal mor [moraines] curved across, several distinct lake basins thus formed all of wh [which] are now empty & dry excepting one on summit between Hope & L [Lake]
Perhaps more lakes higher undoubtedly near summit of fountain

The mors [moraines] of Tahoe are on large scale especially from Em [Emerald] bay to Lake val [valley], all mts [mountains] have sent down ice to Lake
The halls of lake basin on both sides high, higher on W [west] gls [glaciers] of E [east] side help to weight down the central main gls [glaciers] from Hope & Lake val [valley]
There is a lake called Fallen Leaf L [lake]] S [south] of Em [Emerald] Bay several hund [hundred] feet above level of Tahoe.
It is contained between the South mor [moraine] of Em [Emerald] Bay
