This sent [sentinel] is really a Tis [Tissiack] in form having had a heavy ice [sheen] on both sides & the N [North] Dome corresponds in position to it as Tis [Tissiack]

The stream wh [which] drains the basin of the first layer trib [tributary] on S [south] is [said]

About [size] of Yo Sem Crk [Yosemite Creek]

It has 3 times cut its basin can [canyon] down to level of trunk has fall 20 or 30 ft into large round pool out of very narrow [ ] v [very] picturesque.

The first large mead [meadow] is opp [opposite] N & S [North & South] domes (looking down val [valley] from [my] Yo Sem [Yosemite] Alt [altitude] about 5300

like, 20 [ ] camp opp [opposite] first

This is remarkable abundance of delightful river reaches picturesque Treed & bushed & flrd [flowered] & ferned. Light & [shade]
