Where trail crosses the south fork of SF [South Fork] (Boulder)

The scenery from top of divide lol [between] Kaweah & KR [Kings River] very sublime on both sides. The canyons of Kaweah [showing] sides beyond & yet beyond till blue & faint in dist [distance] [ ] a line of haze (yel) marked the plain of [Tulare].
On the left, the Yosemite scenery about the many forks of K R [Kings River] presented most sublime combinations of cliff & can [canyon] & bossy

dome with high sharp peaks in the dist [distance].
Sharp conic peak, black with small snow patch towards head of Joaq [Joaquin] well seen from trail today, was it Goddard?
The stream basin first after leaving Thom Mill on left is called “Woodcock Canon” is finely timbered with fir & Sug. [sugar] Pine, & has large meadow, wagon road to its mead [meadow]. [Where] is Milk Ranch, [then] is Milk R. at Big Meadows also stock sometimes kept untill [Dec] [December] [there], (Alt 17800)
