7 A cloud upon [its] [ ] [houses] those about third of Joaquin [settled] low down upon the sharp pinnacle leaving [the] black points above clear Dana had a gray cloud like a round cap wh [which] at first hovered lightly then gently clasped its snowy head at present it leans heavily down hiding several hundred feet, heavy cumuli to North & E [East] by Aurora. Shadows creep from summits [ ] across [the] level plain Birds [singing] [ ] [conifers]
