March 20. Mr. Liddel arrived from Melbourne at 9:00 o’clock this morning. Have been at work on plants - a large collection. Time and circumstances of travel and general ignorance of the richest places considered. March 21. Secured passage on the Empire to Hongkong via Port Darwin and Manilla, with a view to catching the Siberia for San Francisco, April 30.
