68 first time from Whitney Head Coyote Crk [Creek] 10900. first Descent into Lit [Little] Kern, 9500. Large & small Soda Sp [Spring] propinqua in Coyote Crk [Creek] & in magnif [magnificent] basin of Farewell Gap E [east] side. In basin of Lit [Little] Kern Yel [yellow] sugar Balfour monticola, 2 silver firs all growing together, at 9500. In magnif [magnificent] Farewell Gap Canon of Lit [Little] Kern at 10000.
