18 the competing trees die and give the ground to the Seqs [Sequoias] In Kaweah Seq [Sequoia] wood the ground is carpeted with lupine, horizontal [wheel] lvs [leaves]! Symporicarpus [Symphoricarpos] common here. Lowly Rosa not v. [very] ab [abundant] small gilia v [very] ab [abundant] Dogwood & hazel common.
