Green sky between the gold bars, richest purple on bed of greenish gold. 22nd. Set out in spring wagon with Mr. Sneider for the old hotel point at the end of flagstaff; rode a distance of 18 ms; pleasant drive through the woods. Had fine view from Copper mine pt and Berry’s Grand View pt. Then walked from Berry’s 3 ms to where I first saw the can. Painted desert opp p sublime of Dutton; Bissell pt; Hollenbeck pt; Lincoln pt and far to E and southea vast plateau all tree covered, black, bound by escarpment 1000 ft h. Then painted desert yellow and beyond Marble Creek. Drive mostly in yel p 60 ft h. Oak particular deep furrowed, netted, gray,red tinges in groups, 18 in dia 30 ft h. Nut p some loaded with just open cones and light brown. Grand view p at mine Grand view p at Berry hotel Grand view p at old pt. Glorious snowstorm sweeping up canon.
