green [mountain] slopes, timber line controlled by snow [avalanches] and long lying. Took on 60 tons coal and started home at 5:30 P.M. Lovely sunny calm day and eve. Many small bergs from Taku [Glacier] suggestive messengers carrying news to green shores silent stranded like patches of snow lasting into summer. Many also at approaches to Holukam [Bay]. Charming evening, purple and gold, full moon, fish splashing silvery. Everybody sad and glad that the end of the glorious trip is near. [Sketch: 4th E. of Yak gl. 2 ½ ms [ ] front 6 ms from 3rd]
