Lovely [yellow] green cover on even the rough pillars on [mountain] fronts, resulting from dyridation. Soon run into fog, good course laid, whistle blowing. Will have to anchor when we come to island. tangle 100 [miles] [distant] if fog does not lift. Solid fog. Dropped anchor at 10 P.M. Started again at 3 A.M. July 18. Fog lifted, fine morning, had to slow down only once for a belt of fog.
