[Sketch: Small gl[acier] P Wil S.[Prince William Sound] Looking NE. from 10ms S. of M Columbia Gl] map. Then went to copper mine. Went ashore in boat laden with campers After making camp some started up mtn[mountain] 3000 ft h[igh] after 10 PM for view. Harriman went hunting & climbing on same mtn with Ind[Indian] Jim of Yakutat. Arrived at ship about midnight. Ladies came [ashore] after church services at 10 PM & enjoyed ramble on [bay]. In the meantime I rambled in woods & [bay] [bog] ([peat] 4 to 6 ft deep). Spruce 380 years old, 4 dia? Found few in flr. Not fertile here abouts this yr. P[icea]. hemlock in flr. Grows tall here with other species & spruce cassiope Kalmia delicate Cranberry ab[out] also aster & fritilaria[fritillaria] dark purp[le] caltha 27th Started for Port Wells Gl[acier] soon after 1 A.M. Arrived at a point in [fine] long [Sketch: Port Wells Gl W branch]
