Many fine cascades] Island. We camped on the mainland opposite it. Got enough wood for fire & enjoyed Camped on bed of big lupines the [ ] though slightly raining. 24th Arrived at Ind[ian] summer village this P.M. at 3.30 & got on the steamer. Enjoyed a stroll on Henche[Haenke] Island on the way down. It is as flowery as Egg Island & the views of the gls & mtns are glorious Inds[Indians] last eve camped on Egg Island. They had been hunting seals all day. 4 men got 15 seals. We heard them shooting & heard the seals barking or ½ howling. A [strange] earnest voice. Saw many seals also in open water. In pairs one came close along
