77 Lake V=Nevada [in] heavy black mirror lake wh seemed to have a surface polish, trees straight & tall, pulse on lake to show life no wind hush of hush of rapids What black in [arch] shadows . What caves of blackness densed & refined beneath drooping hanging rounded silvered brows, pure spirit white of curving shore. Trees & bushes on mtn side rising higher & higher black stems gray branches with mixing of snow in thick leaves & shadows rocks grayish changing to deep white on upper brows, [clump] of tall pines that 78 Stood out on a bend of lake near shut off all the distant [mountain] leaving nothing but that wh was clear present living, soul awakening in the purity of heaven Willows calm & [pine] & [ ] aspen quiet. Great dead log in front like a ghost white on top & black with shadow below this leaned to left it above ground white to an inch of [fise] Now calmer. [Heavens] what rifle strong every long [shadow]
