Fairway Rock, and Kings Island in sight. A fine day to pass through the straits. Seem now fairly homeward bound. Celebrated the event by drinking bottle of wine – water phosphate. Sept. 15 Lovely sunny day. Temp. about 50o. Not a cloud in the sky this eve. Mellow rosy sunset. Clear starry night, glorious display of stars. Aurora with moon beneath the arch, making very impressive effect. Fine view of the sharp mountain clusters at the head of Golowin Bay. The highest with slight snow-dusting. Scarce a trace of old snow visible.
