74 [Sketch:] small vill sand sprinkling of birch & fir Heavily glaciated Rocks dipping to E [east] Delightful sail up fiord from Savanger
75 [Sketch:] Near Hagerton Knobby glaciated masses of granite of moderate height 500 ft [feet] or so, clvg [cleavage] [planes] close & well developed. Red tiled houses dotting the rocks like stranded bowlders, on every green patch a few rods square. Exceedingly barren rocky [moutoned] forms no great precipices -- crooked stone fences inclosing fields of 1/2 or 1/4 of an acre. 40 Norwegian [farmers] could find farms & homes with all necessary outbuildings inside 1 building at Chicago fair -- no wonder
