Just how this [destinelly]] [seen] [south] [portion] of the land is united with the [dimly][seen] north part I dont know from any direction We have seen it the well defined Cape is cast against a [dim] for line For all we know to the contrary the south & north may be seperate.
As to the interior we saw no mtn [pks] back of the coast mtns, [but] from the top of Herald Island saw three large mtns pale grey color judge them to be granite They seemed to be at least 40 ms [back] from the [NW] coast. They showed but little snow. Have not seen any active gls but a few may still exist on the mtns [of] interior if at all
