Leaving S L [Salt Lake] City by the [western] RR [railroad] to LP a [dist] of 20 ms [miles] Here you find the shore rocky & gravelly with many fine bathing bays .The [ ] of [ ] [ ] was one of [those] lovely [May] days where birds sing [their] [best] & flrs bloom & ones blood flows like wine The majestic beauty of the far reaching lands [charmed] and [improved] our [ ] mtn adventure. [ ] [Cirrus] [ ] in & out & away [in] elegant [ ] its [ ] [mountain] [high] [craggy] & [abrupt] & many color [ ] & [shredded] like the sky. I climbed a few hundred feet on the mtn side [for a] [wide] [ ] the [ ] [dwelt] reveled in its lively [columns] & mtn [mountain] [ ] link its northwest lands [were] [ ] the [ ] blinded [not] the sky Then I thought how [glorious] a [sun] would be [returning] to the [shore] I sought out a nook of a
