[letterhead]July 12# 1886John Muir Esq Martinez Cal. Dear Brother:Your letter of July 6# came safely also the deed John Muir #to# W.B. Brown I think the trade will be completed the latter part of this week, I had to send [illegible] lendor to Kentucky to get a (D.C.D.) Quit Claim Deed from an old lady about 80 years old who has by an inperfect deed a life dower in the land but we though perhaps she would die before you sold, it does not amount o much. We cannot go to the hills as you suggest on account of [faulty?] probabilities coming on very soon.We are all well now Truly Walter Brown01235
