[4]Annie is enjoying her visit to California very much her health is much better and recently John has been made very happy over the addition of another daugher to his household_and now dear Daniel with much love to you and Emma and all the children I am as ever affectionately MotherPSHave just received a letter from 'Cal" containing a fig leaf and an olive branch which I enclose to you Mother[1]Portage Feb 18th/1886Dear DanielYour letter of the 7th just containing so many kind inquiries came in due time_I am glad to be able to inform you that my health has been quite good this winter although the weather has been very sever at times_I walk out of doors as much as I possibly can and I am much benefited by doing so The house we live in is a large new comfortable
