Cambridge, Sept. 1872My Dear Mr Muir Since my last to you -this morning, indeed, came to me your letter of July 29th sent to Dr. Bolander. - too late to reach me in Calif. - & which Bolander evidently kept till he knew of my return home. On getting your letter I at once wrote to New York to have my publishers put up for you, in addition to the little "How Plants Behave," my Manual, School & Field Book & Structural Botany. So you can set to studying Botany again. I have directed the package to be addressed to you, & as soon as I know through what San Francisco bookseller the parcel is sent I shall write to advise you, that you may reclaim it.
