S F Aug. 26, 1887:Dear Louie I will be up Sunday morning on the 8 o'clock train I have been making very slow progress, & now that I have just got fairly under way on the long Yosemite Article I want to stay as long as possible.I ordered a cook or [choc?] man through the Sing Ju employment office. but am afriad he has not appeared. Any how watch little Helen [illegible].Tell Wanda Ill bring her seomthing & that I hope she is taking good care of Helen & learning something everyday.The weather here is very raw & cold _ & my neck is stiff.Hope all goes well on the ranch Tell Harry to use wine-grape boxes when the others are down for pears
