Martinez Jan. 9, 1914Dear Mrs Dickey:With all my heart I wish you a happy new year, so happily began on the famous old Nile. You will meet not only the blessed Hookers in Egypt but still another of my friends Mrs Averell. And how I would enjoy being with you all breathing the dry air of the Libyan Desert instead of the fogs & rains now choking all California. What a fine charming novel time you must be having. Perhaps you may come home by the way of Ceylon India and China. Even the shortest glimpses of these countries would be worth while. My love to Donald with a thousand happy memories, Ever your friendJohn Muir05671
