[1]New St. Paul, Hotel,354 Columbus, Avenue,San Francisco.Aug. 22-Friend Mr MuirHave returned to the city, from my trip into the mountains, my objective point from the start was Rush Creek south of Mono Lake to visit some some old mining claims. However boath going and coming I looked down into the Valley and said hallow to it, but had no time nor inclination to go down onto its floor, and stand arround on old familiar ground look wise and mum but in vain to see again the wellcome smile of our old time friends, old "Indian Gim, "Saw Mill Johnson", and a nomber of other pioneers of the Valley that have taken their last drink of fire water over Hulsoms05827
