Dear Sister Mary:By a letter from Sarah received yesterday in which your letter to her written in pencil was enclosed, I gained a complete account of your dangerous experiences in an electric storm. We have all to thank the Lord that your injuries were not greater. So few who ever receive shocks of this sort ever recover. I think you and Willis had better come out to California where blizzards and lightning are almost wholly unknown. Your long letter I thought so clearly stating your case showed that a 1ightning shock had a good effect in one way, as nothing less than this, it has always seemed to me, was necessary to get you to write a letter of any kind. I am pegging away at another book which I hope you will enjoy.Ever, dear Mary Your affectionate brother,[illegible]Martinez, Cal.October 29th. 1914.
