(written in Seattle, Washington on my way north.)Fort Yukon, Alaska.17th June 1914To John Muir Esq.Dear Sir:I have asked M[illegible] Scribner's sons to send you copies of two books they have recently published for me, "The Ascent of Denali (Mt McKinley)" and "Ten Thousand Miles With a Dog Team"; and I ask your acceptance of them as a very small recognition of the great delight which I have had in your own books in the course of the last ten years. In the narrative of the first journey which "Ten Thousand Milles" describes on p. 391 you will find a reference to your "Mountains of California" which I have always thought the finest mountain book ever written.05776
