[letterhead]August 20th 1895SirExcuse the liberty I take in addressing you but I have a letter of introduction from Mr Alvord through an acquaintance of yours viz Mrs Barnes of Albany & also of Mrs Catherine Weed Ward, who have been so kind to me in giving me letters of introduction. Knowing that I was visiting Alaska & intending to see the Glacier bearing your name thought I would be pleased in becoming acquainted with you. I purpose going to [illegible] at an early date & therefore will have to defer my visit until I return which will be about the end of October when I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you.I had heard you were in this neighbourhood & hoped to have seen you before leaving.Trusting you have had a pleasant time in the mountains, I amYours obedientlySydney Keith02014
