August 12Dear friend Mrs OsbornYour kindness is endless Many waters cannot quench it- not even Avalanche Lakes or AmazonsI'm so glad yon are all enjoying your mountain trip. The day your letter from 8500 above arrived, news from Cook made me hurry. The Dennis Rails this morning, the 12th instead of l5th. Nevertheless the books is triumphantly done and in the publishers hands while I'm in Virginia's who in genuine Osborn style is making all kind arrange-ments imaginable to launch me straight for my way. So that in an hour or two I'll be fairly off.But as to Taft and Fetch Hetchy I could do nothing for want of time before leaving. Later however I may manage it possibly through the Sierra ClubMy address will bePara. BrazilC/o Booth Steamship Co.Goodby, Love to you allJohn Muir05097
