Martinez, Feb. 23. 1894My dear Mr Johnson,I send you today by Express the Alaskan M.S. reconstructed & hope it will now please you. I have made a distinct article of the trip part another of Glacier Bay. The Indian part I have left out altogether as is seemed a pity to mar the effect of the Discovery article. It is a far cry from ice to Indian & the latter I think should make a third article, should you think otherwise you can easily splice it on, as I have enclosed it in a separate envelope.Should you think favorably of making a separate 3d article on the Indians, you may return the M.S. & I will add to it, & string all the material on a strip of narrative. I think it would make an interesting article 8000 or 10000 words long.[in margin: 484]01786
