January 31, 1912[letterhead]Near Mozambique & Madagascar where Wanda was supposed to go mountaineering if you'd only ask her.Darling Helen,I hope you are all well. I've had the grandest time imaginable. "Kings may be blest but I'm glorious" etc. Left Capetown, Jan 16th arrived Victoria Falls on the 20th wandered about in the woods that fringe them dripping with spray & through the Baobab woods. Thence to Beira on the east coast 150 miles or so from the mouth of the Zambesi, glorious glacial sculptured mountains hundreds of miles of granite domes, ridges, peaks
