We have gotten a house for her around the corner, where she is now up and nearly well, have fumigated these premises, and are trying to get a much needed rest before braving the January Atlantic. We expect to leave N. Y. now on the 24th, on the Lapland, at this time our precious baby goes along, even though we hate to take her away from Carmel for six months even. But she is fat and strong, and we hope will not suffer too much from the big city. We shall try to live as far outside it as possible.V. L. K. is in front of the fire[3]going over proof of a little book he wrote hurriedly this fall to prove that if we knew anything about biology we shouldn't shoot each other to pieces in battles any more. He sends you cordial greetings and best wishes for your every happiness in the New Year.Where are you now? And how are you? We think and wonder so often. We have your splendid letter of September twentieth from Para, and love wandering between the bossy banks of the Amazon with you. Do send us another, or at least a card as soon as you can. our address will be care of American Express Company Haymarket London
