Martinez, CaliforniaFebruary 24th, 1896My Dear Mother,I was very glad to hear that Dan has been paying you a visit. It must have been a great pleasure after so long being without a sight of your three boys. I wish David & I could also have been with you. I see David quite often. I saw him Yesterday. He is looking quite well & is now making money & fast recovering from his business reverses. Etta also is well & very hopeful since she sees that she will soon have a beautiful home all paid for. Maggie comes over to our house quite often & Helen & I often go to see her in our walks for exercise. She is better than she was a year ago, though her daughter May is now keeping house about a quarter of a mile from hers
