My editorial in August "A D[illegible] of the [South?] to itself" is being widely sent out and copied and favorably commented on.I dont understand your letter in one respect. Am I right in thinking that we are to have an article or two on the Amazon but none on Victoria Falls? Our people must know immediately what to expect as they are making announcements soon. Please address your reply to me at the Century office though we shall probably be here through August. It will be opened by Buel & forwarded.I am golfing and fishing and [resting?] here, only disturbed by such anxieties about my next year's programme as whether we shall have any articles by John Muir--a former friend of mine!Faithfully yoursR.
