[2]If it had been possible for you to have visited me when here I would have had Judge Griswold and J. N. Stewart at the same time You recollect that their room at the University was just above yours and Mr. Davids. I get up to the university about once a year, and I thnk of you every time when I look at the rooms we occupied. On my trip a few years ago, I made you a short visit in my return home. I saw you at Prof. Sweets home. I was Co. Supt. of Schools of Waukesha Co. for eleven years and I recommended at Prof. Sweets theory to the teachers of the county. A year ago I wrote to Scribner and got a copy of your book Mountains of California. I enjoyed it so much. Would be glad to hear from youEver yours trulyJohn Howitt02159
