June 25, 1909.John Muir, Esq.,Martinez, California.Dear Mr. Muir:We are hoping to receive the copy for your changes in and additions to the "National Parks" for our forthcoming holiday edition with Mr. G1eason's pictures, and trust that it will be convenient for you to let us have it by the 15th of July.[illegible] the discretion which you have kindly given us, we have decided to insert at the end of the book some of Mr. Allen Chamberlain (statistical tables that seem to us to have very considerable interest and Value, and we shall also include the table of Forest Reserves which you sent us. It may interest you to know that the Interior Deperment did not [illegible] the tables concerning the National Parke which you sent as untile some time after Mr.Chamberlain had atirred there up to it by his investigations and inquires.Yours very truly,Houghton Mifflin Compeny.[illegible]
