J[letterhead]Very private Sept. 22.1909Dear Muir:As I have already foreshadowed you have been elected a member of the Academy by a very [complimentary?] vote, but dont speak of it till you get an official note from us which may be some weeks. I am very happy over it.You must certainly come to Washington to the [launching?] of the Academy. President Taft has offered us a reception in the White House and it will be a brilliant affair and merely by showing yourself you can do much to help save the Yosemite.
