[ca 1 Nov 1909]Dear Mr ColbyHere is the paragraph in the Presidents M[illegible]age in which the Yo park is mentioned."I urge that all our national parks adjacent to national forests be placed completely under the control of the forest service of the agricultural department. xxxx The need for this course is peculiarly great in the Yellowstone Park. This, like the Yosemite, is a great wonderland, & should be kept as a national playground. In both all wild things should be protected & the scenery kept wholly unmarred."Did Caspar W. Hodgson send you copies of his protest on the H. H.? They are mighty lovely & outspoken I'll send you my copies if you haven't them.Another fine one from a very able & influential man - Prof. White I sent his full address to Parsons. . Kind regards to Mrs Colby- Ever yours John Muir
