Home Nov. 2, 2908Darling Helen,I ordered two crates best muscats for you & the Jude yesterday They will probably arrive on No 8 tomorrow. one dollar paid on them by Johnny Reid. The lost letter you refer to told that Mr Trout did not come to look at the house nor have I since heard from him. Th bit of water front at Vally's Junction brought: $1000 - 1/2 yours. Also payments on lots. I have paid your town taxes, about $100, & city by Magee $50 - I suppose you signed the paper sent you by Tinning about settlement of insurance claim on the burned warehouses. All goes well. I'm going to get a man to run a typewriter for me - expect him in a day or two So it will not be easy to get to Daggett until a lot of copying is done. But tell me what you want & I'll send it & be very very careful to avoid colds now the weather is changingWith best wishes to Mr Manson & all the Vans & Fs & dearest love to theeEver your father & friend John Muir
