Martinez, Dec 27, 1908Dear Mr Colby:All my time for the last week or two has vanished in this Park business & with your & Parsons grand work I fancy the enemy must be having no end of the trouble that belongs to the wicked - Have you seen Mr H yet? I have been anxious to go to the City to talk things over but I got so severe a cold the last time & the weather is so foggy I'm afraid to venture.I hardly think the presence of one of use would count for much with those politicians in Washington Influencing public opinion is our most hopeful plan I guess the other H is with us, but am not sure. Anyhow, Mr Phelan & his engineers are not going to have all they want either in water or electric power. I think I see the beginning of changes that will help our side. Happy new year to you & familyEver faithfully your John Muir
