Martinez, Dec. 18, 1908Dear Mr Colby;I would have been in the City oftentimes to help in the Park fight had I not been disabled by the Grippe or a severe brochial cold. Nevertheless I've been doing what I could from here. I don't think I should go to Washington in my present state of health, & of course your business will not allow you to go. Do you know any available member of the club that we can send? Anyhow we must keep up a storm of protests in letters & telegrams & magazine articles.I enclose Mr Johnson's last letter Show it to Mr Parsons.I think a good effective pamphlet may be made of the best condensed statements from letters & articles used in the earliest part of the fight.Call on Mr H. [Toursey?]. I have not yet heard from New York.Faithfully yours, John Muir
