Martinez, Aug. 2, 1908.Dera Mr Johnson:Many thanks for your two editorials, both are capital. The Hetch Hetchy in particular every sentence rings sharp and clear like steel on steel or steal I don't see how it could be improved & all the honest decent public spirited world are with you. Verily notwithstanding your life long apprenticeship in word work you continue to improve with the years. Good for you! Well done good & faithful world servant!! As to credit in that Congress of Governors never you mind. It will rise some of these days above all the political din I'm just back from a trip in the high Sierra for a breath of fresh air & hope to be able to work on the Yosemite book. Helen is fast gaining health on the Mohave desert.Ever my dear Johnosn faithfully yoursJohn Muir
