HARPER & BROTHERSFRANKLIN SQUARE,NEW YORKART DEPARTMENTApril 28, 1897.Dear Sir:-->The illustration of your article on The national Parksand Forest Reservations, is referred to me.Before using any of the illustrative material, which you kindly sent us, it will be necessary to get the photographers' consents to use their pictures. Will you kindly procure this for us, or else send us their addresses which are not given on the photographs, so that we say communicate directly with them?In addition to the photographs you inclose to us three clippings from some publication. We would prefer the original photographs from which these were taken, but if this should not be possible we would have to get the consent of the papers(if they are the owners of the negatives) or of the photographers before we could utilize them.
