Therefor she is cheery & hopeful & looks forward to her two year banishment with genuine delight. She likes the spacious grandeur of the desert scenery & has her favorite horse & dog, while the Van Dykes are excellent neighbors. Her address is Daggett, Cal.I've been stupid & miserable all winter with the Grippe, the last attack came near making an end of me, hence delay in reply to your kind letter, Poor brave Helen will be delighted to hear from you & I am with sincere regard to Mr Baileyfaithfully yoursJohn Muir
