[3]little trips together & a very happy time in Edinburgh. they are so kind one can't help being happy with them. indeed all the Dunbar people are the same. Mrs Dick & the Pinkerton people & lots more. Jane Mather was here the other night. She is very well & a good [school?]I have been reading with great interest your writings in "Picturesque California" they make me long to see the country myself. Very many of my cousins have read your "Mountains of California" with great interest & hope when you come back again to see you too. They all live in Northumberland & are Ann Gilroys children. We knew you were off to your beloved mountains again, and I thought I'd wait until I heard you had come down among ordinary mortals. Mama [Lunam?] had your letter a few days ago & we were all glad to hear you had had a nice time & had returned home safely.Very many thanks for your kind letter & still kinder offer of a home with you & your little girls02043[4]and she were great friends & the same ages, but my Aunt has been dead some years and my cousins all married I am going to them next week for a month or two, but hope to hear from you.
