Martinez, Cal. Aug. 22/07Dear Mr Calkins;I am very glad you are so soon to be with us. Come straight to our house & stay until you get one of your own or get tired of us. My daughter Helen is all that's left of the family since her sister married & we two are keeping house here. We were in Arizona more than a year - got home about a year ago . repaired the earthquake-shaken house & have made at least a fairly good camp of the place.Helen I'm happy to say is now about as well as ever.I'll be at home from Sep. 20 to Oct. 15 as far as I can now see.Let me know later when to expect your arrival.Ever faithfully yoursJohn Muir09197
