Martinez July 24/05Hello Desert Midge! How are you today? You are escaping a lot of cold blue-gray fog. Last night it was worse than ever & the wind gave it a wolfish howling voice that discouraged even the coyotes & the poor lonesome loco locomotives. We are all about as usual. Mamma complained of the fog last evening but is better this morning. We are impatiently awaiting the mail. Kindest regards to Miss Safford. Heaven bless you Darling. Write a little letter every day. We are lonely now.Your loving father J. M.
