Cook. Cal. 6/29. '04.Mr. John Muir,Martinez. Cal.My Dear Sir:- Yours of recent date at hand expressing a desire to visit our scenery as soon as you caught up with your work.I will greatly enjoy showing you our proposed park and looking after your comfort while here. Had you been at home to come when I wrote could have paid your expenses and will see if I cannot do it yet.Through the efforts of Dr. Jordan and Prof. Dudley of Stanford in cooperation with congressman Needham the land has been withdrawn from entry and will be given a field examination sometime this summer by the Bureau of Forestry. I think you would enjoy a visit her as we think we have something very nice. The rock scenery covers about 6 sq. miles and is almost entirely of conglomerate. Some03395
