[First draft of letter, in note-book][Dec. 27, '04] Dear Mr. Johannes Reimers:We are sorry to learn you are suffering from rheumatism. Though not a dangerous disease it is often mighty painful and we sincerely hope you will soon be your own sturdy self again. Above all things keep warm now. and keep warm after you are well. Our blessed climate is about as full of rheumatism in its changefulness as any other in the world, and one cannot be too careful, especially in civilized life.Your speech at the Unitarian Club dinner is excellent, and we read it with much pleasure.Happy New Year.[John Muir]03098
