[letterhead]1545 Pine St.San Francisco1905My dear Mr Muir:I have just returned from a two weeks vacation, which I spent in the Santa Cruz mountains, and I was inexpressibly shocked to hear, upon my return to town, of Mrs Muir's death, and your own illness. I called upon Mr Keith and he gave me your address, as I wanted to write you a few lines to express to you, and the girls, my deepest sympathy.Mrs Muir's kindness to me I shall never forget, and I shall always remember with pleasure my visits at Martinez.I hope your own illness has been exaggerated, and that you will soon be well. Please remember me to the girls, and assure them of my sympathy in their troubles. With the kindest regards for yourself I amYours most sincerelyChas. H. Sawyer03627
